If you have not done Yoga, then you might feel that, its not as effective as physical exercise. I used to feel the same. Well, you don’t know unless you try it yourself.
Just a 30 minutes session of Yoga, can make you feel great, boost your confidence and make you happier.
How I started doing Yoga?
I suffered from a neck injury. My energy levels were down and I slowly started loosing control over my left leg. I thought the more I do physical exercise like weight lifting and strength training the quicker I will heal. But it was doing the exact opposite. It was making my injury worse.
After several months I just tried to do Yoga and hoped it will improve my neck problem. Much to my surprise it worked. After a single session of just 30 minutes I felt so much better. My leg strength slowly came back and my neck pain was far less. I continued doing Yoga and it completely healed me.
Yoga is even better, if you are suffering from back pain, muscle injury or pain in the joints. You can’t do squats if you have a leg injury, it will make it worse. However, if you do Yoga instead of squat, you will feel a lot better and recover faster.
The reason why Yoga works in this situation is because while doing Yoga you don’t have to move your body, you just have hold on to different poses of Yoga.
Yoga poses stretches the body thereby increasing blood circulation throughout the body which helps in healing any sorts of physical injury quicker.
It’s a fact that, if you move the injured muscles or bones, then it will make the injury worse. When you break a bone in your arm, the doctor puts a paste around your arm and you have to keep that for about 21 days before the broken bone fully heals.
Clearly, you cannot move the broken parts. If you start or try to move then it does more harm than any good. You also cannot do Yoga in that case. However, once the paste is opened, it is much better to start doing Yoga. Yoga Poses will stretch your arm and it will make it stronger.
Yoga is effective for both minor and major injuries.
