FIFA World Cup 2022 was a huge disappointment for Cristiano Ronaldo. Why it became such a disastrous tournament for Cristiano? Ronaldo’s fans certainly felt the emotions after Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup 2022 in quarterfinal by Morocco.
Infact, Ronaldo was far from his personal best and you could definitely see his performance on the pitch during the matches in the last World Cup.
The main reason he was unable to perform at his best was because of the death of his newborn son Angel. Physically he was there but mentally speaking he was nowhere near his best.
Ronaldo was surely in the form while playing for Manchester United in the 2021/2022 season of the Premiere League, as he scored 18 goals that included a hat trick against Tottenham.
The disappointment in the world cup must have fueled Cristiano to prove himself in the Euro 2024. Obviously it was his last world cup and he wanted to win it but was unfortunately unable to perform at his best.
